THE GOTHIC NOVEL
The Gothic Novel was invented by Horace Walpole, and the first one was written in 1764 and it's titled The Castle of Otranto , in 1764. One of the basic elemens that I didn't include in my list is an ancient prophecy that is connected to the house. And I also didn't include any supernatural nor otherwise inexplicable events, also I dind't include any women threatened by a poweful, impulsive tyrannical male.
